2023 will be the fifth time Ames will host RAGBRAI as an overnight town, and no better timing than the 50th Anniversary!
RAGBRAI riders love to have fun and our theme “Cycling Fun and GAMES” reflect the fun we will have at the welcome events and evening entertainment on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
It’s been 5 years since Ames hosted an overnight stay, making this Century Loop Day full of beautiful views and wonderful sight-seeing opportunities.
With 83 total miles and 1,479 feet of elevation between Carroll and Ames, you’ll be ready for a true Cyclone welcome. The proposed route has RAGBRAI riders entering Ames on South Dakota Ave. heading north, then going east on Mortensen Rd. As riders approach campus they will head north on Beach Ave. then approach Jack Trice Stadium. Cyclists will ride through the stadium concourse, exiting across the East Gateway Pedestrian Bridge. Expect fun surprises along the way!
Riders are invited to Downtown Ames after the ride for food, drink, and entertainment!
