World Collage Day

Celebrate World Collage Day with a hands‑on collage workshop on Sat., May 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ames Public Library’s Farwell T. Brown Auditorium (515 Douglas Ave., Ames, IA).

This free event is designed for ages 14 and up, and advance registration is required. Register through the APL calendar (https://www.amespubliclibrary.org/event/WorldCollageDay26) or by calling the Adult Services Desk at 515‑239‑5646, ext. 4.

The day begins with a short presentation from local artists on different collage styles, followed by open studio time using a wide range of provided materials. Artists Bob Anders, Deb Anders‑Bond, Kathy Svec, and Susan Norris will be on hand to offer guidance. No experience is necessary—just come ready to experiment and create.

Participants should bring a sack lunch and a good pair of scissors. Water, coffee, and snacks will be available. Parking is available on the street or in the city lot north of the library.

This event is sponsored by the Ames Community Arts Council, Ames Public Library, and local ACAC artist members. For more information, email andersbond1977@gmail.com or visit the Arts Council (www.amesart.org) or Library (www.amespubliclibrary.org) websites.
