The Librarians Screening & Discussion
Celebrate the freedom to read during Banned Books Week by watching a screening of the documentary, The Librarians.
The Librarians traverses small-town U.S.A. with riveting interviews and troves of archival material to reveal the story of the country’s heroic librarians, everyday Americans who have become unlikely defenders of democracy, risking everything to uphold our most fundamental of rights.
After the film, hear from local defenders of intellectual freedom.
Presented in partnership with Ames Public Library, American Association of University Women (AAUW) Ames Branch, and Dog-Eared Books.
