The Doo Wop Project
The Doo Wop Project is America’s premier group dedicated to preserving and expanding the beloved sound of Doo Wop. Featuring Broadway stars from Jersey Boys, Motown, Beautiful, and Hairspray, this acclaimed supergroup has reached audiences nationwide with a hit PBS special, five albums, and more than a decade of sold-out shows across the country and around the world.
Inspired by legendary groups like The Del Vikings, The Marcels, The Tymes, and The Four Seasons, they bring the classic harmonies of street-corner Doo Wop to life on stage. DWP captures and delivers the classic sounds of the guys who, back in the day, harmonized with each other on stoops, in the subway, and on street corners. The boys of DWP also take contemporary songs and give them a Doo Wop twist, something they like to call, “Doo Wopify”. Thanks to this exciting approach, DWP appeals to every generation.
In this Christmas special, you’ll hear classics like “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “This Christmas,” while also enjoying famous Doo Wop hits like “Oh, Rosemarie” and “I Wonder Why,” all in Doo Wop fashion.
