Story City Yulefest
A 108-year-old tradition continues in Story City this Friday as the community holds its annual Yulefest tree-lighting ceremony.
The celebration on Friday, Nov. 25, will kick off with the annual chili and soup supper at the Story City Fire Station, 512 Park St., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free-will donations will be accepted, with proceeds used to purchase equipment for the fire department.
Santa will make an appearance at the fire station, and kids will have the opportunity to decorate cookies.
Simply Mae’s cafe will have goodies to enjoy during caroling. They will be available for a free-will donation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and will include coffee, tea, hot cocoa and cookies.
Caroling around the tree and the tree-lighting ceremony are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. The tree will be located at the intersection of Broad Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.
