Movie Night at Bandshell Park

On Sept. 4, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Ames Parks and Recreation will present its annual FREE movie night at Bandshell Park, 1325 6th St., featuring the 1995 classic “Casper.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair to sit on while enjoying the film. Free popcorn and water will be available while supplies last. This is a family-friendly event, and all are welcome to attend.

  • Bringing major events that draw tens of thousands of people to our community including Boys State Basketball and Campustown Showdown
  • Attending national trade shows and conferences to find new opportunities of events to bring to Ames
  • Providing top-tier service before, during and after each event

  • Funding feasibility studies for local projects
  • Helping advance tourism developments like CyTown and The LINC
  • Advocating for tourism with elected officials- Local & State
  • Driving converstations on a new Fieldhouse in Ames
  • Collaborating with Ames Alliance, iTIP, City of Ames, ISU & Visit Boone County
