King Wylde at Roosevelt

Now in its 19th season, Roosevelt Summer Sundays are free concerts held now through the end of August at Roosevelt Park.

The Ames city park was the Roosevelt Elementary School playground before the school closed about 20 years ago. At the time of the school closing, the Friends of Roosevelt Park petitioned the city to keep the green space as a park. The nonprofit group supports the Roosevelt Summer Sundays series through donations. Free-will donations are also collected at the concerts.

Alcohol and tobacco are not allowed in the park, but concertgoers are welcome to bring food and nonalcoholic beverages.

Note: Please stay in the public park while attending the concert. The western boundary is marked by signs, beyond which is private property (The Roosevelt). Parking is available on the side streets surrounding the park. Please do not park in The Roosevelt parking lot.
