Jazz Night: Fused

Jazz Purists, look away. The opening show for the new season focuses on the musical movement that simultaneously brought more eyeballs to the jazz scene and turned away many faithful followers. Fusion was an inevitable development for a largely acoustic music, incorporating electronic instruments and their popular influences. jazzONE and the ISU Jazz Combos throw the switch on music from The Yellowjackets, Weather Report, David Sanborn, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, the Brecker Brothers and Miles Davis. Admission is $10 for the general public. ISU students and youth under 18 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door prior to the performance.
