The Buckmiller/Schwager Band

The Buckmiller/Schwager Band is a high-energy Des Moines-based blues band that engages audiences with upbeat stage performances. Winners of the 2021 Iowa Blue Challenge, the Buckmiller/Schwager Band went on to represent Iowa at the 2022 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn., where they were semi-finalists. That trip was documented in the award-winning short documentary film “To Memphis and Back.” The band’s first album was nominated for a Blues Blast award in the Emerging Artist Debut Release category, and in 2023 released a second album, “Live at xBk.”

The concert will take place on the Stephens Auditorium stage. Tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door on day of show. Bring your own comfy chairs if you’d like, and enjoy pizza from the Brick and Ember Pizza Company.
