Dance Marathon 4k For The Kids
Join Dance Marathon at Iowa State University’s Ignite program for their 4K For The Kids fun run and walk on Saturday, April 25. The race will be held on Iowa State’s Central Campus. Check-in for the event begins at 12pm, and the run starts at 2pm. Online registration is currently open and will close on Friday, April 24, at noon. In-person registration will be available on the day of the event.
Register at https://market.stuorg.iastate.edu/3245/product. Registration cost is $7 for ISU Students | $15 for the community (under 4: free, ages 4-12: $5, ages 12-18: $7). This cost includes a T-shirt and snacks.
Dance Marathon at Iowa State University (ISUDM) is going into its 30th year as the largest student-run philanthropic organization on campus and has raised over $5.5 million for Stead Family Children’s Hospital. ISUDM is currently supporting 46 local families who have been impacted by childhood illness and treated at Stead. Proceeds from this event will support ISUDM’s operational costs. These funds are used to host awareness and fundraising events for ISU students and the Ames community and to provide community-building and respite opportunities to the families we support.
Dance Marathon introduced its Ignite Program in 2024. This program is centered around growing new leaders within the organization and on campus. The Ignite Program focuses on fostering leadership skills, learning the ISUDM leadership structure, and putting those skills to the test by planning a new ISUDM event in the spring. This year’s group decided to hold a 4k around central campus to encourage the community to come together and move forward in the fight against childhood illness.
