Upcoming Dates and Topics
Saturday, May 9, 10:00 – 11:30 AM: Achieving Balance in Your Garden through Companion Planting

Why do some plants get along and others refuse to grow next to each other? Join Ecologist Beth Heckmann for a class exploring companion planting – a traditional practice of growing different plants together to provide support for each plant rather than conditions for competition.
Just like us, plants rely on balance to thrive. When you introduce the right plants together you can spend less time pulling weeds, watering, and wondering why some seeds refuse to grow. Participants will design a planting plan for a raised bed or container with the right companions for them.
This class will also provide some examples of plants to avoid planting together so gardeners can set themselves up for success. All experience levels are welcome. After class, be sure to stop by the Plant Sale to get started on your plan!
