Coffee Chat: Early Ames Canadian Connections
Enjoy coffee, pastries, and conversation at the museum. Peter Hallock will present a history talk on “Early Ames Canadian Connections,” exploring some of Ames’ earliest settlers who emigrated from Canada. After the talk, browse current exhibits – museum admission is included in the ticket price.
On October 9, Hallock will discuss Henry and Daniel McCarthy. The McCarthy brothers arrived in the area in the mid-1850s from Ontario, Canada. They were very involved in setting the stage for the development and early growth of Ames.
Tickets are $15 and include continental breakfast, history talk, and museum admission. Advance reservations required.
