Coffee Chat: Early Ames Canadian Connections
Enjoy coffee, pastries, and conversation at the museum. Peter Hallock will present a history talk on “Early Ames Canadian Connections,” exploring some of Ames’ earliest settlers who emigrated from Canada. After the talk, browse current exhibits – museum admission is included in the ticket price.
On December 11, Hallock will discuss the Chamberlain Family. Five Chamberlain siblings moved to Ames from Ontario, Canada – four in 1869 and the fifth in 1875. Three became long-term residents, filling roles as teacher, banker, and manager of the local lumberyard in the growing community.
Tickets are $15 and include continental breakfast, history talk, and museum admission. Advance reservations required.
