City Council Night
The community is invited to enjoy a night of music at City Council Night at the Bandshell at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, at Bandshell Park, 125 E. Fifth St. This traditional summer event includes the opportunity to meet Ames City Council members as they hand out free ice cream and Ames water. Additionally, Ames Animal Shelter staff and volunteers will have an informational table at the event to share information about the $1.5 million capital fundraising campaign to build a new Ames Animal Shelter.
The Ames Municipal Band concert, conducted by Michael Golemo, will begin at 8 p.m. The concert is free, and attendees are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the park. In the event of severe weather, City Council Night at the Bandshell will be rescheduled.
