Ames Town & Gown: Megan Moore & Francesco Barfoed
Megan Moore, mezzo soprano, was recently awarded first prize in the Young Concert Artists International Competition and second prize in the Naumburg Vocal Competition. In both, she performed with award-winning Danish pianist Francesco Barfoed, and they have gone on to perform at the Kennedy Center and New York’s Merkin Hall. In addition to their solo and duo careers, both artists are involved in the LYNX Project, commissioning works that set to music poetry and prose by nonverbal youth with autism.
The concert will be held in Simon Estes Music Hall’s Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall on the ISU campus.
PROGRAM: Traditional vocal repertoire including Schumann and Rachmaninoff, music of Denmark, and new works based on texts of nonverbal youth with autism
