Ames Community Arts Council 50th Anniversary Reception

The Ames Community Arts Council will mark its 50th anniversary with a special reception on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 6–8 p.m. at The Recipe in downtown Ames (412 Burnett Ave.). Held in conjunction with the 2026 Ames Artists’ Studio Tour, the event invites community members, artists, and supporters to gather for drinks (cash bar), specialty hors d’oeuvres, and live music by Reggie Greenlaw as the Arts Council celebrates five decades of creativity, connection, and service to the Ames arts community.

  • Coordinating and leading Hotel & Attraction Council to keep them informed and up to date

Events & Opportunities

  • Bringing major events that draw tens of thousands of people to our community including Boys State Basketball and Campustown Showdown
  • Attending national trade shows and conferences to find new opportunities of events to bring to Ames
  • Providing top-tier service before, during and after each event

Advocating
for Our Community

  • Funding feasibility studies for local projects
  • Helping advance tourism developments like CyTown and The LINC
  • Advocating for tourism with elected officials- Local & State
  • Driving converstations on a new Fieldhouse in Ames
  • Collaborating with Ames Alliance, iTIP, City of Ames, ISU & Visit Boone County
