Independence Day is right around the corner! Get excited for the spectacular fireworks show sponsored by Discover Ames community grant dollars.
When and where
The Ames community fireworks show will be east of Jack Trice Stadium on Monday, July 3. The fireworks will start at dusk, which is expected to be around 9:30 p.m.
Parking
The parking for the fireworks will look a little different this year due to the construction on the Iowa State Center lots. The best parking will be in the lots east of the Jack Trice Stadium, and in the lots across University Ave west of South 16th Street. See the map below. The sections highlighted in yellow are lots open to the public.
Viewing
The fireworks can be viewed in any of the available parking lots and in the grassy areas around the parking. Reiman Gardens will also be open for viewing until the fireworks are finished. Visitors viewing the fireworks in the garden may park in the Reiman Gardens lot. Viewers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Personal fireworks are not allowed.
Parade
The Independence Day parade will be in Downtown Ames at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4. The parade will head east down Main Street. Visit Downtown Ames for more information on the parade.
