Melissa is a visual storyteller and creative with a passion for capturing and elevating the essence of our city through her eye-catching designs. In her role as Creative Specialist at Discover Ames, she’s excited to bring her artistic vision to life by creating visuals that reflect the vibrancy and unique culture of Ames.

What Melissa loves most about Ames is its strong sense of community, especially the Farmers Market, where local connection and creativity come together. She’s deeply motivated by creativity and the pursuit of a self-designed life, and she draws inspiration from her culture, interior design, and storytelling. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys exploring creative outlets, attending events, discovering local spots around town, and shooting analog photography. Pottery holds a special place in her heart as both a craft and hobby. She also finds joy in caring for her many plants! One of her favorite Ames memories is biking to Brookside Park and picnicking with friends.
