Emma manages Discover Ames’ many social media channels, its website, and newsletters as well as working with the marketing and communications team on new and ongoing brand strategies and promotions.
She is the former marketing and communications coordinator for YSS in Ames. There she created and managed the Ember Recovery social media channels, email marketing campaigns, and other communications. She is a 2022 Iowa State University journalism graduate as well as a graduate of Ballard High School in Huxley.
Growing up in Ames and Huxley, Emma knew she wanted to study at Iowa State. “I loved going to football games and tailgating with my family when I was young and then doing the same thing as a college student,” she said. “In college, I grew more independent in experiencing Ames in a different way than I had before, this time with new friends who weren’t from the area. It was heartwarming to see their faces light up at some of my favorite shops and eateries that I had been going to since I was a child. There are so many different aspects to Ames, whether you’re a foodie, nature-lover, or sports enthusiast. There is something here for everyone.”
