Ames and Iowa State love to host Odyssey of the Mind World Finals! We can’t get enough of the energy and brain power generated by this event.

To get to the finals, thousands of teams throughout the U.S. and around the world participate in the program. More than 8,000 people are expected to attend the World Finals in Ames. We are so happy to welcome you!

If this is your first visit to Ames and ISU, here’s a brief introduction and some fun things to discover while you’re here:

• Iowa State is known for innovation, so you’ll feel right at home on campus. Be sure to check out the Student Innovation Center!
• We think Ames is Iowa’s coolest college town, and Iowa State University is definitely Iowa’s coolest college campus. Take a walk on central campus and enjoy public art and a park-like atmosphere. Visit downtown, campustown, and local shops and restaurants.
• Stop and smell the flowers! Reiman Gardens, a 17-acre botanical garden, features a live butterfly wing, indoor and outdoor exhibits, garden playhouses, and a 2024 “Living Landscape” theme.
• Take a break in the ISU Memorial Union, where you’ll find bowling, shopping, food, and a coffee shop.
• Explore recreation facilities at State Gym, with basketball courts, rock climbing wall, and more
