The Central Iowa Sports District was developed to work specifically with state, regional, national and collegiate sports organizations. An expansion of the original Ames Area Sports Commission, our mission is to recruit, retain and grow professional, collegiate and amateur sporting events for several communities in and around central Iowa.
Located in the heart of the Midwest, the cities and towns that make up central Iowa are filled with tradition, discovery, diversity, and of course, the Iowa State University Cyclones. But beyond our college-town pride, our communities support a number of celebrated seasonal and annual sporting events, and have played host to some of the nation’s most exclusive athletic competitions.
