Garden Walks

For more discoveries, the Iowa Arboretum has over 160 acres of beautiful gardens and forests to explore. Note: leashes are required at this location and dogs are not allowed in the Visitors Center. Or head to Reiman Gardens during special Rovers at Reiman hours.

Spend your evening relaxing on the patio spending quality time with your doggo all while tasting some of the best brews and food in Ames. Choose from any of these pet-friendly patios:

  • At The Mucky Duck Pub, enjoy a fresh basket of fish and chips, a locally brewed beer, and the company of your pup

Wind down the day by taking a hike around the 3.2-mile loop around the lake at Ada Hayden Heritage Park. Your pet will love a relaxing stroll and spending time with their people.
