TUBACHRISTMAS

The twelfth annual Ames TUBACHRISTMAS concert will be presented Saturday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. in Stephens Auditorium. There is no admission charge for this hour-long festive, family-friendly, and fun for all ages event. All seating is general admission and no ticket is required. The doors will open at 2:30 pm.

TUBACHRISTMAS features traditional Christmas carols especially arranged for tubas and euphonium. The warm, rich, organ-like sound of the tuba-euphonium choir has won the hearts of every audience. Audience sing-a-longs, “tuba humor,” and decorated instruments are a big part of the Ames TUBACHRISTMAS experience.

Michael Golemo, director of bands at Iowa State University and director of the Ames Municipal Band, serves as the coordinator and conductor of the Ames TUBACHRISTMAS. In 2021, 127 musicians participated, and the goal is to have even more this year.

If you play the tuba or euphonium and wish to participate in this concert, go to www.amestubachristmas.com for all the details.  Contact Golemo at 515-291-9341 or mgolemo@mchsi.com with other questions.  Players must be 12 years or older.

Ames TUBACHRISTMAS 2022 is supported by Stephens Auditorium and the Discover Ames Community Grant Program.
