Railroad historian Gary Holzinger
Gary Holzinger, national railroad author, historian, and speaker, will present a free lecture titled “The Chicago, Anamosa & Northern” at the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum on Saturday, March 16.
A passionate Milwaukee Road fan, Holzinger will provide insight into the little-known Chicago, Anamosa & Northern Railway (AKA “The CAN”). This obscure 35-mile-long railroad was started in 1904, continued through 1912, and “died” in 1915. The railroad’s infrastructure was completely removed by 1917.
