Pond Exploration

Frogs, water bugs, and tadpoles, oh my! Discover the plants and animals that make our Iowa waters special. Many aquatic critters live underwater, so we will use nets to explore the pond even further. We will identify the critters we catch all while learning how wetlands help us. Wear clothing that can get muddy and wet. Participants might also want to bring bug spray/sunscreen.

Accessibility: Most activities will take place near the pond. There is a paved sidewalk that leads all the way down to the pond and mowed grass next to the water’s edge.
