Pieta Brown with Bo Ramsey

KHOI has announced a concert with headliner Pieta Brown on Friday, May 2 at 7 p.m. to raise funds for KHOI Community Radio.

Hailed as a “self-styled poetess, folk goddess, and country waif” by the BBC, Pieta Brown first came to international prominence with the release of her self-titled debut in 2002. Since then she has released multiple highly critically acclaimed albums, EPs and singles, with much attention being paid not only to her distinct sound and style, but also the power of her singing and songwriting.

Playing the opening set and sharing the stage with Brown for a few songs will be Bo Ramsey. Bo is known for mesmerizing songs with deep messages. Ramsey is a Grammy-Award Winning Guitar Player, 2 Time Grammy Nominated Producer, Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, and Iowa Blues Hall of Famer. A native Iowan, he has worked with Lucinda Williams, Greg Brown, Kevin Gordon, Pieta Brown, and Charlie Parr.

General admission tickets are $20 and two ticket packages with reserved seating in the first 11 rows are also being offered: $45 VIP package includes a seat in the reserved section and show poster and the $100 Premium VIP package includes a seat in premium section, one pass to Songwriting Stories Session with Pieta Brown and autographed show poster.
