Picnic in the Park

Happy World Picnic Day! There is no better way to celebrate than by having a picnic at McFarland Park. Spend the evening connecting with other families and/or individuals in the community while enjoying dinner in the outdoors. Story County Conservation will provide the ingredients to make hot or cold deli sandwiches. You can choose to make a hot sandwich using a pie iron over a campfire. Participants are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert to share if they would like to. Grab your favorite picnic blanket and get ready for delicious summer celebration.

Participants need to bring their own dishware and water bottle. This program will take place behind the nature center at McFarland Park. Participants will need to travel a short distance through mowed grass to get to the fire ring.
