Next to Normal tells the story of Diana Goodman, a suburban wife and mother who suffers from bipolar disorder and the effects that managing her illness has on her family. The courageous and deeply moving story provides agony as well as ecstasy, darkness as well as light. Next to Normal won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2010. It also received 11 Tony nominations and won Best Original Score, Best Lead Actress in a Musical, and Best Orchestrations.
