Iowa State Singers
Following recent performances with Minneapolis’ noted male ensemble, Cantus, the St. Michael-Albertville Choir, the Stillwater Choir, Cantus from Johnston High School, and the Ankeny High School Choir, the Iowa State Singers will present their spring concert on March 8 in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall, 1:30 p.m. Repertoire will include Bach’s mighty “Singet dem Herrn,” Rheinberger’s lush “Kyrie” from his E-flat Major Mass, and Lotti’s beloved “Crucifixus.” Included are contemporary works by Eriks Esenvalds, Marques Garrett, Shavon Lloyd, Zanaida Robles, and the newly commissioned “We Grow Accustomed to the Dark” by Latvian composer and music educator Lauma Kazaka. The public is cordially invited.
Admission is $10 for the general public. ISU students and youth under 18 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door prior to the performance.
