Get Outdoors Day
Join us for an afternoon at McFarland Park as we showcase the natural beauty of Story County and highlight how outdoor recreation can improve your health and bring joy to your life! This is a FREE event geared toward families.
Some of the planned activities include:
- Scavenger Hunt
- Paddling
- Snacks – s’mores and more
- Fire Making – Put your primitive skills to the test! Give starting fire a try using only flint and steel.
- Face Painting
- Yard Games – Fun games for families and friends, like giant Jenga and relay races.
- Touch-a-Truck – Get up close with a Story County Conservation Park Ranger truck and other cool vehicles.
- Environmental Education – Learn about conservation through hands-on activities.
