Arts Awards Celebration
The Ames Community Arts Council will hold its annual Arts Awards Celebration at Reiman Gardens (1407 University Blvd.) on Sun., May 19 at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited to join the Arts Council in honoring those who have supported and encouraged the arts through their extraordinary actions and exemplary service to the Ames community.
The following awards will be presented:
- Hazel Hammer Cherished Volunteer: Jean Eichmeier
- Distinguished Board Member: William Dilla
- Lemonade-from-Lemons: Stephens Auditorium
- Local Treasure: Norma Wolff
- Special Recognition, 50th Anniversary: Maintenance Shop
- Art in the Workplace: Peter Orazem & Patti Cotter
- Art Educator: Mike Giles
- Veronika Ruedenberg Cultural Entrepreneur: Department of Music & Theater
- Bill Pelz Arts Advocacy: Sam Wormley
- Lifetime Achievement: Betty Boccella
Entertainment will be provided, and light refreshments will be available. The Arts Awards Celebration is free and open to everyone.
