Arbor Day Celebration

Arbor Day Celebration starts at 9am and goes until 12 noon with a tree planting ceremony where former Governor Tom Vilsack will add a tree to our Governor’s Grove. Other activities include KIDS CLIMB – where kids of all ages can gear up and climb a tree safely with the help of a certified Iowa Arborist. Education and crafts feature decorating a tree “cookie” medallion to take home, exploring natural items with all of your senses, and our creative reflection PoeTREE. We’ll have free tree seedlings to plant at home (while supplies last) and of course, there will also be snacks courtesy of our local Boone Walmart and HyVee.
