Ames Town & Gown: Maxwell String Quartet
From Glasgow, the Maxwell Quartet brings with them a strong connection to their Scottish folk heritage, as well as a commitment to perform and expand the traditional quartet repertoire. Winners of both the First Prize and Audience Prize at the 2017 Trondheim International Competition, the Quartet’s members are hailed as “four great communicators” (The Strad), their playing “brilliantly fresh, unexpected and exhilarating” (Scottish Herald).
