Time Out Arcade & Bar

Time Out is a family-owned bar and arcade located just off Main Street at 120 Kellogg Ave in Ames. Once you walk through the door, you are immersed in a retro atmosphere that takes you back to the 1980’s & 1990’s. From the pop culture nostalgia throughout the facility to the music videos and movies on the tv’s, it’s like you have walked into a time capsule.

The facility is filled with arcade games that add to the nostalgic atmosphere. The list of classic games includes Galaga, Mrs. Pac Man, Dig Dug, Super Mario Bros, and Frogger to name a few. We also have many multiplayer games like Basketball, Skee-ball, Air Hockey among others for your competitive side as well as a great selection of pinball.

Time Out offers a full bar and fun specialty drinks like Slimer & Butterbeer, to name a few. There are 24 beers on tap that range from popular domestics to seasonal beers from local breweries. We offer plenty of non-alcoholic options as well.

Time Out has something for everyone depending on the time of day. During the afternoon hours, families are welcome with minors supervised by an adult. After 7pm, We transition to over 21 only. Thursday’s we have music bingo, which combines your knowledge of various genres of songs and bingo. We are also known for our karaoke that happens Thursday after bingo, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Our kitchen is open Thursday to Saturday nights with menu items ranging from snack foods to burgers, making Time Out a perfect destination date night spot.
