This creamery is one of the most unique places to find a delectable summer snack here in Ames. Located on Iowa State University’s campus, this ice cream hotspot has made-from-scratch recipes with each flavor being unique to Iowa State’s own history and people.

There are six more locations scattered around campus where you can buy ISU Creamery’s delicious 8-oz ice cream containers, including the ISU Bookstore, East Side Market, West Side Market, Gentle Doctor Café, Hawthorn Market & Café, and SPARKS Café. Hickory Park Restaurant Co.
Not only does Hickory Park Restaurant Co. rock barbecue, but desserts as well. Ice cream has a separate menu at Hickory Park, ranging from banana splits, shakes, malts, and floats! Choose from 17 flavors of ice cream and carefully crafted flavor blends like peppermint patty, peanut brittle, toffee park, and so many more.

Dutch Oven Bakery
If you’re looking for a sweet that don’t involve ice cream, Dutch Oven Bakery is known for traditional Dutch pastries! The bakery’s most famous tasty treat is the Dutch Letters, but they also have other favorites such as the Dutch windmills and the almond horns.
