The Workspace
The Workspace encourages everyone to come and create. From pottery to painting, jewelry-making to woodworking, there is something for everyone of all ages and interests to enjoy.
Drop-in crafts
Throughout the summer, The Workspace has a rotating selection of drop-in crafts to do in studio, or to take home. Craft when it works best for you.
Paint-your-own pottery
From functional kitchenware to decorative items, The Workspace has something for everyone. Not sure what you’re wanting to paint? Look over the weekly themes and find something that sparks your interest. Projects will be ready for pick up in about a week.

Open studios
Looking to explore a new medium? Now is your chance through the open studios at The Workspace. Open studios give you the chance to work on your own, outside of a classroom setting. Throw on the wheel during the clay studio or construct a new project in the woodshop.
Workshops
Create beautiful pieces of art while learning from renowned instructors! Take a variety of classes ranging from ceramics, woodshop, and even stained glass. CyBowl & Billiards
Get your game on! On the ground floor of the Memorial Union, CyBowl features a full-service bowling alley with 8 lanes. You won’t want to miss Buck Bowling on Monday afternoons this summer! $1 games, $1 shoes, and $1 sodas. What more could you want?
Take a spin in the arcade or play a couple of board games in the seating area. If all this playing stirs up your appetite, the Underground Café has your back. It is fully stocked with your favorite bar foods and Pepsi products. After fueling up, hit the lanes for another round!
The Maintenance Shop
Looking to get up close and personal with some of your favorite artists? Throughout the academic year, the Maintenance Shop presents a range of local, regional, national, and internationally known talent. This intimate venue gives you an experience like nowhere else. You can also catch comedy, musicals, and theater at the M-Shop. For 50 years, The Maintenance Shop continues to be one of the best live music venues in not only Ames, but the world!
The Bookstore
Whether you’re gearing up for game day or looking to get some new supplies, the Iowa State University Book Store is an essential spot for Cyclone fans. The bookstore features Iowa State apparel from various name brands, school supplies including tech devices, dorm room and home decorations, as well as gifts and gadgets for parents, friends, alumni, and more! If you’re an incoming freshman or current student, stop by the bookstore to pick up books for your upcoming classes, new-student information, and tech service and repairs!
