Or test your knowledge during trivia nights at The Mucky Duck Pub or Alluvial Brewing. And if food the is the way to your heart, The Recipe in downtown Ames gives you a hands-on cooking experience and a great way to meet others.

Ames is home to iconic eats that bring people from all over to get a taste.
- Hickory Park is known for its collection of smoked sandwiches and platters. Not only do they rock barbecue, but desserts as well. Ice cream has a separate menu at Hickory Park, ranging from banana splits and shakes to malts, and floats!
- Cornbred brings a unique spin to barbecue. Find all your favorite traditional, comfort foods with a modern twist, plus live music and an awesome Sunday brunch.
