SUMMARY:The Shape of a Seat
DESCRIPTION:Chairs are objects that are both familiar and quietly complex. Though some are modest in material and form, subtle details can reveal careful decisions of craftsmanship, design, and function. These details shape how we encounter chairs and how they support everyday life. Explore the construction, history, and design of a selection of chairs from University Museums’ permanent collection with Peter Scheidt, Assistant Professor of Wood and Material Studies.\n
