Based on The Railway Series of classic stories authored by a father who loved trains and wanted a shared experience with his son, Thomas & Friends™ is a rite of passage that inspires the imagination while teaching the life lessons of friendship, exploration and cooperation.\n\nWhat are the appropriate ages for Day Out With Thomas?Day Out With Thomas is a family event that welcomes passengers of all ages.\n\nWhere is the event?The event is located at 225 10th Street in Boone, Iowa.\n\nWhen is the event?September 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20, 2026\n\nWhen do tickets go on sale?Tickets are on sale now at www.ticketwebdowt.com — phone sales are not available\n\nHow much are tickets?Ticket prices range from $20 – $23 per person\n\nHow do I purchase tickets?Tickets are on sale now at www.ticketwebdowt.com — phone sales are not available\n\nWho needs tickets?Tickets are required for guests ages one and up.\n\nWhat is included in the ticket price?A ticket for Day Out With Thomas includes: a ride behind Thomas the Tank Engine, games and activities, temporary tattoos of Island of Sodor friends, an Imagination Station with arts & crafts, a trolley ride, museum admission and more. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt, the Controller of the Railway on the Island of Sodor.\n\nAre there any refunds?There will be no refunds or exchanges.\nWill Thomas the Tank Engine be there?Thomas the Tank Engine has traveled all the way from the Island of Sodor and has arrived Right on Time to take a ride with you and your family.\n\nWill Sir Topham Hatt be there?Yes, Sir Topham Hatt will take time away from his busy schedule as Controller of the Railway on the Island of Sodor to meet and take pictures with guests.\n\nDo you recommend purchasing tickets in advance?Due to the popularity of Day Out With Thomas, advance ticket purchase is highly recommended. It is not uncommon for events to sell out. When purchasing tickets, you will be asked to select a specific date and time for your ride with Thomas. Your ticket is valid only for that date and time.\n\nWhat times do trains depart?Thomas The Tank Engine departs every hour on the hour. Please keep in mind that activities begin to shut down after the last train of the day departs.\nFriday: 12 PM through 5 PMSaturday: 9 AM through 5 PMSunday: 10 AM through 4 PM\n\nWhen should we arrive for our train ride with Thomas?It is recommended that guests arrive at the event at least one hour before their scheduled departure. Sir Topham Hatt will not allow Thomas to wait for late arrivals.\n\nIs there assigned seating on the train?Tickets are assigned by time.\n\nHow long is the train ride?The ride is approximately 25 minutes in length (round trip). The length of the ride is mandated by the company owning Thomas. They have determined that smaller children have a tendency to become fussy on rides longer than 25 minutes.\n\nAre you limited to just one train ride?There is one train ride per ticket.\n\nIs there parking available on site?A limited amount of on-site parking is available. Street parking is also available.\n\nIs there an additional cost for parking?There is no additional cost for parking.\n\nWhat if there is inclement weather?Day Out With Thomas events take place rain or shine.\n\nAre cameras allowed?Absolutely! Guests are encouraged to capture their Day Out With Thomas memories for their photo album.\n\nWill there be food available?Food is not included in the cost of admission, but a variety of food vendors are located on-site.\n\nAre strollers permitted?Day Out With Thomas is a family event that welcomes guests of all ages.
