SUMMARY:Arkansauce w/ Between Howls @Alluvial
DESCRIPTION:Arkansauce is back for 2 euphoric summer nights on the prairie. Between Howls, a blazing folk duo from Duluth, MN will open the night!\nFri 8/22 7pm – $20 adv/$25 DoS – All Ages\nArkansauce calls forth melodies of the Ozark Mountains’ rolling hills and raging rivers with their distinct blend of newgrass. This progressive string quartet features Tom Andersen on bass, guitarist Zac Archuleta, Ethan Bush on mandolin, and Adams Collins on banjo. Their music features improvisational string leads matched with complex melodies, intriguing rhythms, and deep thumping bass grooves. Each member sings lead and harmony parts as well as contributes to the lyrics, which offer authentic, intelligent songwriting with hard-hitting hooks.\n———\nBetween Howls are dynamic vocalist/violinist Ren Cooper Howl & guitarist/singer-songwriter Nick Muska Howl. The two perform a blend of folk, rock and blues featuring a distinctive take on the catalogs of artists past & present alongside their own original material.\nThe Howl’s met in college at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. They first crossed paths as members of various jazz ensembles, as well as at house parties where they would steal songs from each other’s playlists. After an impromptu late-night jam, they began performing publicly in the winter of 2018 as “Cooper & Muska.”\nThey have since performed across the US, and in 2021 relocated to Los Angeles, CA. While in California they cowrote several albums worth of material together, primarily as frontmen for the touring rock group One Less Guest. The Howl’s have also contributed to numerous records for other artists, and have helped score two films- a documentary & a short film which recently debuted at Grauman’s TCL Chinese Theatre.\nAfter many years of being friends and bandmates, Ren & Nick were married in September of 2023. The two are currently in the initial stages of recording a forthcoming Between Howls album of all-original material. They frequently tour/travel between Southern California & their cabin in Northern Wisconsin.\n———\nLimited seating available – if you need ADA accommodation contact us.\nAdvance tickets available in the taproom!\n
