SUMMARY:Focus Grant Exhibition Reception
DESCRIPTION:The Iowa State Memorial Union is hosting the Focus Grant Exhibit through April 30 in the Memorial Union Art Gallery. Hours are Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1- 4 p.m. A reception will be held on Wednesday, April 9 from 6-7:30 p.m.\nSince 1972, students of all majors have applied for Focus funding for creative projects outside of the classroom. Focus Grant funds support the creation and presentation of new work in visual art, apparel design, writing, theater, dance, and musical performances. Funded projects in 2024-2025 include sculpture, film, letterpress, cyanotypes, bioplastic, pattern drafting, 3D printing, fibers, painting, and mixed media by the following students:\n\nElli Allen, Senior in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design\nTJ Benson, Graduate Student in Creative Writing and Environment with a Minor in Integrated Studio Arts\nCamila Cebollero, Senior in Integrated Studio Arts\nJosephine Crow, Junior in Industrial Design\nUgochukwu “Ugo” Eluchie, Graduate Student in Graphic Design\nCha Cha Hudson, Ph.D. Candidate in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design\nKierra Jack, Senior in Interior Design with a Minor in Entrepreneurship\nElizabeth Jones, Graduate Student in Student Affairs\nMarisol Karcs, Graduate Student in Creative Writing and Environment\nEhyun Iris Kim, Sophomore in Industrial Design\nSam McCauley, Graduate Student in Integrated Visual Arts\nChloe Otto, Senior in Industrial Design\nNicole Soriano, Graduate Student in Integrated Studio Arts\nTiara Young, Junior in Graphic Design (PICTURED)\n\nThe Memorial Union is located at 2229 Lincoln Way in Ames on the ISU campus, and paid parking is available in the ramp adjacent to the building. Both the Gallery and the Art Reception are open to the public. The Art Gallery is located on the 1st floor and has free admission.\n
