DESCRIPTION:Beautiful Land Market, Ames’ premier handmade and vintage pop-up market, will hold the first market of the season on Sunday, May 5 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the downtown Ames Fareway parking lot, 619 Burnett Avenue. This pop-up series will continue with markets held the first Sunday of each month from May through October (with the exception of July). The events are free and open to the public, family-friendly, and feature free market tote bags for the first 100 visitors at each pop-up. Shoppers and visitors can expect a vibrant selection of goods from one-of- a-kind handmade creations and artisanal products to ceramics, original art, boutique clothing, vintage finds. and more.\nThis curated shopping experience showcases over 40 local and regional makers, designers, vintage collectors, mobile boutiques, food & beverage trucks, and live music. Ames singer/songwriter/guitarist Fred Love will perform from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Love mixes country, blues and roots influences with a DIY/punk delivery to create a ruggedly original cowpunk approach. Ames-based rock band Foxpin will perform from 1:30-3 p.m.. Foxpin is Ben Erbes (keys/synth), Chase Abner (bass/vocals), Dan McClanahan (drums), and Lane Jahn (guitar/vocals). The band characterizes its sound as authentic rock-infused bluesy keys and a tasteful rhythm section.\n
