DESCRIPTION:The Ames Municipal Band will present hour-long concerts every Thursday at 8 pm in Bandshell Park in June and July. Each week the band will perform a different concert featuring popular music, light classical, hymns, marches, and music from Broadway and films.\nConcerts are free, fun, and family-friendly. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.\nTonight’s vocal soloist is Katharine Hensley.\nDr. Michael Golemo is in his 21st year as the director of the Ames Municipal Band. Golemo also serves as the director of bands at Iowa State University.\nConcerts are aired live on KASI AM 1430.\n
