DESCRIPTION:Members of the Ames and surrounding communities are invited to the American Hosta Society’s national convention at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center June 7-10. The theme of the convention is “Fields of Hosta Dreams.” The public is invited to view and participate in the Hosta Leaf Show on June 9 from 1-5 p.m. and June 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors will be able to see and purchase some of the newest hostas available at the Hosta Market Place at the same times as the Hosta Leaf Show. One of the features of the convention is the annual auction where unusual and often rare hostas are offered for sale.
